Privacy Policy
How account data, subtitle files, outputs, chat sessions, and payment metadata are handled in Translate My Sub.
1. What we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to run the service: account identity, email verification data, basic billing and credit records, uploaded subtitle or transcript files, generated outputs, saved summary sessions, and basic anti-abuse signals such as IP-based request logs.
2. How uploaded content is used
Uploaded files and generated outputs are used only to process subtitle translation, bilingual merge, summarization, cleaning, shifting, conversion, preview, download, and related account history. We do not use your subtitle, transcript, or output content to train our own AI models.
3. AI providers and processing
Some features rely on external AI processing providers. We send only the content needed to complete the requested task. Provider names, model details, or internal routing are not displayed to end users as part of the normal product experience, but external providers may temporarily process content in order to return the requested result.
4. Storage and file access
Files and outputs are stored in private server paths, not public object URLs. Downloads are served through app routes with account checks. Stored filenames may be randomized at rest so raw storage paths are not exposed as customer-facing links.
5. Retention windows
Standard pay-as-you-go file access lasts 1 day unless the relevant plan or product says otherwise. Active subscription file access lasts 7 days. Purchased credit-pack vault credits expire 30 days after the latest qualifying top-up. Summary chat sessions are removed after 30 days without activity. Expired files, outputs, and stale sessions can be deleted automatically as part of normal cleanup.
6. Account, auth, and security data
We store account email, display name, password hashes through the authentication system, verification state, password-reset events, credit balance state, and access-control metadata needed to protect your account and operate paid features. We also keep limited rate-limit and anti-abuse records to prevent spam, fraud, and API exhaustion.
7. Payments and billing records
Payments are handled by external payment providers. We do not store your full card data. We do store billing product identifiers, payment event metadata, subscription status, and credit grant history so we can process purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, fraud checks, and support requests.
8. Deletion and account closure
You can delete supported saved sessions directly from your account. You can also request account deletion from the security section. Some billing or anti-fraud records may be retained where reasonably necessary for compliance, abuse prevention, bookkeeping, or dispute handling.
